Received the latest E-issue of a rodder magazine and noticed an ad for wipers and related equipment from Chevs of the 40’s. I took screen shots of the ad to present here because the Trico vacuum wiper motor looks suspiciously like an IH vacuum motor. Knowing full well the items such as wiper motors and other equipment is bought from suppliers and not made by the truck manufacturers, it is possible to see that what’s installed on another brand could be what we encounter on our IH trucks. Therefore, if you’re having trouble finding a replacement, don’t just search for an IH source. Look around to other auto and truck brands to see what they have to work on an IH. I’ve owned my ‘51 for over 47 years and have replaced the original vacuum wiper motor with one from a ‘66 AMC. Holding one in each hand searching them over to find any difference and could not see any. I also know that the parking lights on my ‘51 are identical to the ones used on early Scouts. So take some time to look around and see what’s available when you’re needing to replace something.

(When I tried to review the photos I attached, they looked fuzzy to me. The phone number is 800-952-8156. The website is http://WWW.CHEVSOFTHE40S.COM)

In a similar vein, does anybody know of another manfacturer or vehicle that would have used the same master cylinder as my 1953 AL-110 (equivalent to the 1952 L-110)? The master cylinder is, I'm assuming, a Wagner 1 1/8" bore and has FE-1107 cast on it. I'm looking for a repair kit for that master cylinder. All IH parts suppliers that I have queried have it listed as out of stock so if I can find a larger manufacturer that used the same mc then I could be in luck?

Newport Engineering makes direct bolt in electric drives for this and many other applications. I have used NE and their products fit like factory OEM

The FE-1107 master cylinder also fit the 1936-42 Nash and 1946-54 Nash.

It's easier to find when you look for Raybestos number MC1722. Cardone part number is 1317220.

I sent my R112 vacuum wiper motor to "wiperman.com" in New York state, they rebuilt it, and it worked great. I endorse them 110%.
