Why would you need one?

Re: Steering stabilizer?

Just about any cross steering stabilizer will work, as long as there is room. I have installed a stabilizer on my R120 and it made the steering smooth right out.
Just about any 4X4 shop should have something that will work for your situation. The stabilizer is not a fix for a worn steering box, the stabilizer will soften some of the random wondering and darting.
I installed a stabilizer on my 1940 Ford. The Ford had an "I" beam axle similar to that of the Old IHC.

And how did the 40 Ford drive after you installed it?

Wow! Nice answer. I just asked how the car drove after you installed the stabilizer.

Re: Steering stabilizer?

I installed a cross steering stabilizer on the OEM 1940 axle. This took the random trembling and darting away. I do not have a stabilizer on the front axle cross steering, dropped axle, today. I did build and install a PANHARD ROD to better track the axle. The Panhard Rod was necessary because of the air-spring suspension.
I do not have any pictures of this in the thousands of pictures I took of the Ford build.
I do not know if and when I will finish the few remaining details on my 1940 Ford. I may never get to finish the Ford and some of the other things I had plans for.
Life and old age has changed everything, for me. I have a shop filled with the tools to make just about anything I can think of. I still have the desire to go out and get after my dreams. I am having mobility issues. I am slowly getting better. Will I ever be able, that is the unanswerable question, right now.

Re: Steering stabilizer?

That makes me sad to hear Nikki. I hope you see improvements daily and can get back after it sooner than later. I have an enormous amount of respect for knowledge and ability you have.
