Leaking Carb?

I've put a couple good drives on the R112 the past couple weekends. I've noticed after shutdown the amount of fuel in the filter decreases and yesterday it looked like it may have leaked out of the carb onto the intake. It doesn't leak while running at least that I can see. Does this sound like the needle isn't seating? What are the chances this fuel is also making its way into my oil?

Re: Leaking Carb?

Sounds like gas boiling out of the carb on shut down. Unfortunatly it is a result of how gas is formulated today, to easly vaporize. It is made for closed fuel injection systems not for open carbureted engines.
While it is possible the carb is leaking it is just as possible the gas is the problem.

Re: Leaking Carb?

Ok yeah that makes sense. I had to put a 1” spacer under the carb on my 65 mustang to prevent gas from boiling. Are there any tricks for these old trucks?
