Re: What motor do I have

That is a medium 6, with a 1bbl as that one looks to have it is likely a 282, but could be a 269 or someone could have put 1 bbl manifold on a 308. Engine numbers will tell NOT CASTING NUMBERS!

Re: What motor do I have

engine number will be STAMPED into the BLOCK on the drivers side around the #1 and #2 spark plug area (below the head, around the those two cyl. There will be a "pad" with numbers stamped.
Will start like BD282xxxxx

The number you are looking for will be right behind the coil output tower. Everything I see points to a 282.

On your last picture, where you can just see the coil in the left corner, and the cast number looks like it was hit with a grinder, there is a pad with some paint one it, clean that carefully and look for stamped numbers.

You are talking about the area behind the casting of PR? On that "block"?

Re: What motor do I have

yes, you'll have to clean the paint off and look. Externally, the 308 and 282 are the same, and they are similar to the 250,269 and even the earlier 241 and 259.
Only way to tell for sure is the number.
