6V SOLENOID

Solenoid went out on my starter. The auto parts is trying to sell me a 12v solenoid which is what is coming up. That doesn't seem right to me. SS547A is what they are trying to sell me.

Would you agree I should NOT get a 12V solenoid even though that's what it's calling for?

Would you agree I could get the solenoid in this link? DB Electrical SPL6006
https://www.amazon.com/DB-Electrical-SP ... 176&sr=8-3

Or do you have any better suggestions on solenoid?

I would agree.
I would rather have tools I do not need than to need tools I do not have

Re: 6V SOLENOID

Keep in mind, 6V requires twice the amps to do the same work as 12V. [Volts x amps = watts.]
My posts contain my own opinions...your mileage may vary, void where prohibited, objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear, and alcohol may intensify any side effects.
