Door Handles

Hopefully a simple question . . .

Are the outside door handles the same left to right?

On my truck the passenger side has a lock cylinder, while the driver's side has a blank button. Can the handles simply be swapped left to right to put the lock cylinder on the driver's side?

Re: Door Handles

I'm assuming this is on a late R or an S series truck. There was a different part number for the left door handle if ordered with a lock, but as far as mounting and dimensions, the left and right are the same. You wouldn't even have to change the door handles. Just change the buttons - one on the right to the left handle, and one on the left to the right handle. What you'll notice, and the reason there was a different part, is that the key will insert "upside down" in the lock. If that doesn't bother you, you should be good to go.
