My radio is done!

My radio repairman just finished working on my Motorola/International radio soon to go in my 1950 international l-110. He also installed an auxiliary port on the radio so I can play music through my phone on it! Here is the link to the YouTube video of it if anybody is interested. https://youtu.be/MjjU5Q2mGbU
I just wanted to put this out there to show people that just because something is old doesn't mean you automatically need to replace it with new. A lot of people spend bookoo bucks having new radio "guts" installed in their old radio. There is nothing wrong with that, but I had my radio repairman fix my radio that was listed as a "barn find" on eBay and he only charged me $45 to replace all capacitors, fix all the other problems on it, and add an auxiliary jack!

Re: My radio is done!

I will soon have one Motorola 6 volt for sale. I have two and the first one is now being gone through by my old time radio guy for installation in my S-120. The second will also be refurbished by my friend and I plan to sell it. I also have a totally redone cab roof mounted 12 volt one for the A and B series I would sell, and one old 40s vintage Philco Universal I plan to sell. I have a Philco installed in my KB5 , all refurbished , and it sounds awesome! Stickman 207

I just installed my custom built speaker cover I made myself in my truck for my newly bought and restored international radio!

It's special and rare. Sounds better than I expected. Beautiful too, in my opinion.

Has it been adjusted to only receive broadcasts from the early 1950's? From what I've read they're all still bouncing around out there in space somewhere.

Re: My radio is done!

Yes, it does sound really good!. It receives AM stations only, but I don't even have an antenna hooked up because I had an audio jack installed on the radio through which I can plug in my phone and play my 1950s playlist through the radio. I will probably play music from my phone more than I would an AM radio station so I just didn't bother to get an antenna and install it.

Not me. I am not old enough. Before my time. :jester:
