L series wind wing pivot

I am in need of the drivers side wing window pivot on my 50 L110. Does anyone know where to obtain one ? Was there other makes that used the same part ?

Re: L series wind wing pivot

Your best option is to buy a drivers door and remove the vent-window assembly from another 1950. Everything is different on the 1950 including the doors. I have to wonder if the vent window may be 1950 only.
Are you able to post a picture or two?
I think I have an extra rusty driver's door for the "R" cabs. I can check, later. If you are close I will give you the door, no charge, but you must pick it up, here in Vancouver, BC.
My 1940 Ford has similar vent windows. The pivot points are different but do the same function.

Re: L series wind wing pivot

Thank you, I am only 1200 miles from you ! Appreciate the offer. I believe the bracket/ pivot comes out pretty easy. The upper pivot male is broke. I haven't had much luck uploading pics.

Re: L series wind wing pivot

Pictures from the IHC MT221A parts catalogue. This parts catalogue is for the later "L" and "R"
This may help you select the part you need.
If I have one, I will ask someone to drop it in the mail. No charge. Give something to a local charity, if this works for you.
I don't get around as well as I used to. I will get at this asap.

Re: L series wind wing pivot

Nikki, appreciate you doing this.
I am pretty sure it is part # 17. The pics don't blow up real clear. But I'm 99.8 % sure that's it. Must be driver side or left. Thank's for your help.

Re: L series wind wing pivot

From the MT 63, it appears that the hinge pivot is the same for all of the L series, and it doesn't even matter whether the vent window assembly is Excel Corp. or Troy Sunshade. Just different left to right. So apparently that part from any L or R, and maybe even S (not sure on that) would work.

Re: L series wind wing pivot

I did a search for the pieces you need. I know they are somewhere because I took them off and put them in a safe place. I found four window frames with the pivots removed. Where did I put them?
If I have to, I will take that piece off of a complete door, tomorrow. I have 9 complete left doors, I have to totally take the doors apart for painting anyway. I need to keep 4 sets of doors. Three sets for projects and one set for spare.
I am pleased that someone has inspired me to get out and get with the program.
Lloyd (lbesq) has a 1950 "L" with the parts you need. He may wanting to part out what he has. Only he knows. Lloyd is in Nampa, Idaho. That may be closer to you.
