Distributor vacuum line

Does anybody have a picture of the vacuum line and how it is ran to the carburetor. I’m more concerned with how the line bends and runs from the distributor. Mines been off and gone for a while now and I forget what it looked like, now I’m making new lines for this and all the brake lines.

Originally the hard line on mine was a sharp 90 , gooseneck bend out and joined the fuel line passing in front of the valve cover and another 90 into the carb port,

I elected to use grade hose from the diagram up directly to the port as shown.

Re: Distributor vacuum line

Harvey,

I’m trying to somewhat keep the stock look of steel vacuum and fuel lines. If nobody has a picture I can figure it out and bend, flare the ends. Purchased all the tools for bending and flaring for doing the new brake lines.

Re: Distributor vacuum line

If you did the brake lines will be a piece of cake either from my description
or through photos referenced with a search here on this site.
Have fun.

Re: Distributor vacuum line

from the factory service manual pics, lines come out then bend down to level of bottom of water outlet housing on head,
see bracket on front of head behind fan pulley, 90 degree bends around front of engine, 90s again, then 45 degree towards vacuum canister, line goes between distributor cap and block,
kind of hard to see in pics,

Re: Distributor vacuum line

Nice must of been a little different on the 220 vs 240 as on my 240 the diaphragm is mounted different
from what is shown. hum.

Re: Distributor vacuum line

ksever,
Here is best I can do for right now. Don't have good pic of where it goes in front of thermostat but the vacuum and fuel line go through a common bracket. The vacuum line then goes behind the oil filter with a couple bends to hook to the dist. One pic is before disassembly. SD240 in R150. I did best I could to copy the originals which I think were original. I went through the tube bending exercise also including brake lines. Was actually kind of fun. Have fun with your project.

Re: Distributor vacuum line

Thank you all.. I see I am missing the elbow coming off the distributor but I’m pretty sure I can make that bend. I managed to make the one piece brake line bends on rear axle.
