Re: Difficult door latches

I cleaned my latches in an ultrasonic parts washer. Quick and easy with a little Simple Green in the water. . The cavitation bubbles get into every opening, however small. I have used EVAPORUST in my ultrasonic cleaner. the rusted 1/2 inch bolts were like new in a few minutes.

Ultrasonic cleaner, heard of them, never used one, see them at HF. Wonder if they're any good. May have to check into that.

Re: Difficult door latches

This is not one of those tools I cannot live without now that I have it, but, ultrasonic cleaning makes a big difference. This is my second unit from this company. I had a 6/5 liter and my friend "borrowed" it. I bought a 30 liter to replace it. Try ultrasonic rust removal with EVPORUST. fantastic.

Re: Difficult door latches

So after looking inside the cab wall with a mirror and flashlight I see 3 bolts going through the mount of the hidden hinge. Appears spot welded on interior side. Also a series of bolts on cab pillar in a panel that appears to be separate peice. I wonder if anyone has attempted to remove any of this and what the results were. I'm sure my hinges have some excess play, that some have determined to be unserviceable. Don't really want to remove a bunch of old bolts that may very well break in the process to find out.
