Wow! Thank you for the insight. I'll reconsider the conversion. In the meantime, I'll be googling 6V halogen lights and light buckets/signals/brakes. Thank you again!

I had six volt halogens in my 49 KB 2- they were awesome! I could actually see the road coming home after dusk and they lit up the flourescent signs from quite a distance. Got them at NAPA.- Stickman 207

I’m pretty sure all the wiring is adequate if not over rated for 12v., at least in my vep 1942 gpw it’s ok. The only thing that was modified on my gpw was the generator was replaced with a single wire alternator, 12v voltage regulator, battery, all the light bulbs. That’s it. Starter, gauges, switches, breakers, and horn all work fine. I will be converting it back to 6v. eventually for historical purposes.
