I did this with my 37 Diamond T, in the truck recondition,
put in new rod and crank bearings same size as took out,
pulled pistons, and honed cylinders new rings same as took out,
did a in the truck valve seat grind, - flathead motor, lapped the valves, put it all back together, ran great, still does

Took an old Dodge 225 that was burning a Qt every 25 miles, and after the re ring went to a qt every 1500 or so. Ran it up to 380,000 miles.

Sounds like a straight forward freshening up; valve job, new rings, and new rod bearings. I don't think there is much reason to get any deeper into it than that.
