Ignore that. Your truck is probably mechanical. I forget these things sometimes. I'm glad you got it up and running.

emptied the fuel tank and filled it with new fresh gas


Could still be gremlins lurking in your tank I'd keep a sharp eye on the filter.
Glad you got it figured out ..

What is the vacuum advance? How do you check for a vacuum leak?


The vacuum advance is the hard line from the carb to the diaphragm mounted to
the base of the distributor its function is to alter ignition timing.
You can visually inspect this line for leaks and tighten fittings . check hose, etc

Also the rubber diaphragm within the housing may be damaged
you can check to see if yours is working easily enough and get a replacement
if need be. I had too..
