Broken axle stop

The stop around the center pin is broke in 2 peices in my l110 semi floating axle.
The peices are broke clean and I'm sure it would be nearly impossible to find a replacement part. The peices fit together nicely so I am considering having it welded. The gears look good and suffered no obvious damage. I suspect the part is cast iron, so it would need to be welded accordingly. Any thoughts from you guys about my options ?

Re: Broken axle stop

Not sure what you are referring to, but just about every day someone is pulling one of these rear ends to replace with a faster ratio Ford 8.8, find the part or a whole rear axle shouldn't be hard.

I am trying to keep original as possible, I know I could swap axles but I've already bought all new brakes, bearings etc. Part I'm talking about is the piece that the axle shafts butt against inside the differential.

I have seen this and used it with mixed results, have issues navigating it. Thanks for reminding me of it.

Re: Broken axle stop

Here is the parts book photo. What item number are you referring to? I just removed my L110 axle to swap with an 8.8. I have yet to get the other axle out so I am unsure if any of the parts will be salvageable yet.

That is called the "thrust block", item 19.
What I was trying to say, many are pulling IHC axles to replace with the Ford, so there should be a fair supply of IHC axles to get parts or whole rear axle.

Yep, thrust block is it, 19. Is 38 a gasket? Mine had no gasket, somehow retained lube though.
