No, But it looks like yours, Might be different tooth count (13 teeth on mine) pitch angle, or some other differance. A parts manual would tell what it is for, and if it was ever used on your trans. I don't have a parts manual for your year truck.

There's more than one 3 speed transmission for a column shift. I've had both in my 56 S series. One's smaller than the other, the larger one has one input shift shaft while the smaller has two input shift shafts.

Ethan, I may have one. I'll look if I make it to the shop tomorrow.

Would you have any interest in a basket case three speed for parts? Mine is a '56 also. I'm trying to go automatic.

Keep reading and studying. We all have to start somewhere. Just keep in mind what these trucks were made for; hauling heavy loads at low speeds, on roads and tires and brakes that were made for about 50-60 mph tops. To make them work outside of that envelope, requires an exponentially increasing investment in time, money and work. Be honest with yourself about how much of those three you are able and willing to expend, and you will have a successful project. Also be honest with yourself about what the truck will be used for. Building a trailer queen or show truck, requires a very different approach than a daily driver.

Keep after it. You'll get there.

By basket case, I mean I disassembled it to try to diagnose a discouraging noise, then decided to try to go automatic. It's disassembled in a box, or in other words, a "basket case". lol

I never did figure out what the noise was, might still be in the transfer case for all I know. If you're interested, I would sell it pretty reasonable, but I'd like to sell it all together.
