Re: sd 220 pistons

OK, Let's start fresh.
First, would ya'll please stop using "Quote"!?

What model truck is it? Always good to know so the correct parts manual can be used (presuming the eng. is original).
The engine serial number would be useful, find and post.

Edit... With the above info I could have had all this info yesterday.

KevinK, you should make sure you need standard parts first off. The standard bore is 3-9/16" so measure yours.Never hurts to double check, kinda like the old carpenters motto, measure twice, cut once.

The pn 125875R1 is service pn 125875R11 Piston, standard for eng. sn 261932 & up which is a 3 groove piston.

FYI;
What I did find is the 2nd intermediate compression ring was eliminated in later engines, otherwise all corresponding rings are the same whether it's a 3 or 4 groove piston.
It breaks down like this (#'s for STANDARD size)
107246H Ring,Compression TOP
107249H Ring,Intermediate (2 needed for 4 groove piston)
190849R91 Ring,oil <bottom> (Supercedes 66658R1)
Above 3 pn's are for reference only!

Also found there is no pn for .10 os,use std. size.

So if you do indeed need 3 groove standard piston(s)...
125875R11 Piston,standard size (IH pn)
134821R92 Ring set,standard (for 1 piston/IH pn)

This is my Google search of the piston pn,only one 10y/o hit. :(
https://www.google.com/#q=125875R11+Piston

That means the piston by pn has been posted on the web only once.

Tried by description...

check the swap meet section, you may get lucky.

Did a bit better with the rings...

At least one forum member has bought from Ritchie Implement Inc. and was very happy with them. As always it's prudent to call and confirm stock status.

2C5280 Hastings pn (Does 6 pistons)

Dont know if the tilt valve rings are the same, I assume they are. You better check that number. Triyng to help.

Re: sd 220 pistons

I just finished rebuilding my BD240, and got the rings from Perfect Circle out of Maine , I think. I never did find oversize flat top pistons at a price I could afford. Cheapest one were $110 EACH, from Egge, Tilt valve pistons are easy to find and I would have changed the head to tilt valve if I had known the manifold would work or would I have to find them also. So I wish you luck in finding pistons.
