Just another possibility, there could be a lot of wear on the throttle shaft allowing the carb to draw extra air from around the shaft on acceleration. Causing a lean mixture. Just a thought. They do wear out. I had one rebuilt on a tractor. A handy man was able to press a new bushing into the carburetor body. Can't recall if he built up the throttle shaft or if I found a better used one. Either way, it tightened up the slack in the throttle shaft.

Any easy way to check on Ralph's comment about the throttle shaft is to spray some carb cleaner around the shaft and see if the rpm increases. if so you may be sucking air in. That works for vacuum leaks too. Sometimes you need a 4 foot long arm to do it though.

Well I went to my old house where it is still stored and found that the carport ot is in collapsed from all the snow now I got a really big project in front of me before I can start working thanks for all the tips

I converted to a Weber with electric choke. Works great.
