Re: Radio

The radio in the first photo is more modern than an L-series truck. Notice the 2-wire connector "plug"; NOT common in the 1949-'52 era. I'd wager this radio is more like what you might find in a 1960's International...and is probably 12V.
My posts contain my own opinions...your mileage may vary, void where prohibited, objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear, and alcohol may intensify any side effects.

Re: Radio

Weren't the original Motorola radios tube type? The pictured one looks like it might be transistor style to me.

Re: Radio

The links below are some pictures of the motorola radio that came in my 56' S-112. It didn't have knobs so the I have no ideas what they should look like. I like the ones you have on yours, looks like they would fit the truck.

I need to get all the knobs on my dash rechromed I thought about pulling the radio from a 54 Mercury but I dont think it would look right, I AM pulling the dash clock from one and mounting it on my dash above the radio to fill that bare spot I think it would look nice and be functional

Re: Radio

If you don't care about the radio, it's not terribly difficult to find a factory radio delete plate. I picked one up a while back for about $25, I think.

Re: Radio

Kevin shared a pic of the radio for my L110. Does anyone know where I might find a speaker box?
