Where are you located? Do you need a positive 6 volt ground (as original)
Also have some generators too.

I checked my shed and I only have a 12v Starter.
I have four 6v generators though. :p1003:

6 volt starters love 12 volts and they will last a very long time on 12 volts because of the reduced amperage needed with 12 volts. NO! reversing the polarity and upping the volts will not make the starter run in reverse.
