Brake light problems

After a couple of months being in a repair shop, I finally got my 1953 R-112 running. Runs real good. Now my problem is my brake lights will go on only if I have a turn signal going. Any suggestions I sure would appreciate it. Don't want to just ride around in the neighborhood.

Re: Brake light problems

Add-on turnsignals? Mine didn't do much of anything right. I ended up taking the turn signal unit apart and cleaning/adjusting the entire thing.

Re: Brake light problems

I took apart the turn signal assembly on my '56 S-120. The wire ends were hashed, and it was pretty challenging repairing them in that small space, but I got it done.

Re: Brake light problems

Did they work before going to the repair shop? Its pretty easy to get the wires missmatched.
