LEMON JUICE for your carb cleaning rebuild

Just an FYI...I learned a great trick to cleaning carbs while rebuilding them...boil them in lemon juice...works better than any carb cleaner does and cheap and more environmentally safe.

Those lemons were dead already- would you rather they rot on the ground or serve the noble purpose of keeping a Binder alive?
"How the heck did that happen?"

Re: LEMON JUICE for your carb cleaning rebuild

Here in Central Florida, that use to be an inexpensive proposition. However, Hurricane Andrew devastated most all of the commercial lemon groves. There may be some small mom and pop groves that survived, but lemons now mostly come from Mexico, Caribean, and other places. Lots of acid in lemons. In addition, there is a by-product from the citrus industry that electronics companies, cleaning companies, etc. purchase. The basic product in the industry is called d'limonene. It is a natural solvent mostly from the peel of citrus. It's in a lot of the cleaners you purchase, especially the ones that advertise citrus or orange fragrance. Straight d'limonene is actually concentrated strong. You can clean your driveway and almost anything else with this stuff and it is obviously eco friendly because it is all natural. Not commercially available as is, but is an ingredient in the cleaners. Has been used unofficially as a balm to ease arthiritus pains, and as a horse liniment, too.
