1950 International truck parts

I have a 1950 International L120 that I am trying to find resources for parts. If you know of some good websites where I can find parts, please list them here.

Specifically, I am looking for a thermostat, starter, oil filter and canister. But I would love to have any sites that you have found helpful. Thanks in advance

Rock Auto is pretty good at some of the old IH parts. Travelall Parts.com is another but in my opinion a little pricey, but they do have the parts. My favorite place locally for used IH parts is Coonrods IH in Grant Colorado. His phone number will come up on a search but he is not on the Internet. I've heard Southland IH is good but have never dealt with them. MM

If your not opposed to used, you might find that members here have most of those things on the shelf.

Just my thoughts.

I've used travelallparts.com and Southland. Southland can be a little high priced especially if you're in the states. They are in Canada and there is the matter of exchange rate. Travelallparts is located in The Pacific Northwest (Oregon or Washington). You'd be surprised what you can find at NAPA if you can find a counterman willing to do some research.

Re: 1950 International truck parts

Like they said rockauto.com has alot of parts. If you find a good parts guy at a parts store that knows how and will look in a book he can help you too. If you need a oil filter canister I have a couple of parts trucks sitting in the field that i can probably get one off of if your interested. Sell it to you cheep! There are several optinons for a oil filter. You can search the forums for some of the other subjects on this. It might have just been me because no one else seems to have had this problem but when i got an oil filter from a parts store it was to big to fit in the canister. I was lucky to find a dealer that had some original sock style ones on the shelf. if you want i can get you a canister and original oil filter and sell you the whole thing and ship it to you you just have to pay for it all. Message me if your interested and we can talk.

Re: 1950 International truck parts

Thanks to everyone for all the help with the L-120 truck parts. I'm making some headway on this truck and hope to have it road worthy in early Spring. I'm also looking for 6volt headlight and taillight bulbs as well as different wheels for my truck. I'm trying to get away from the split rims. Does anyone know a good resource for either of these things. Thanks again!

Re: 1950 International truck parts

If you have either of your head lights and or bulbs, they should have numbers on them, you should be able to get them from at least NAPA. I do not remember who it was, but there are halogen head lamps out there that work on 6volt and give a good bright light.
If you have the Lock ring rims, Those are still used on many Trucks, any truck tire place can and should change them for you. If you have the 6x7 1/4 lug spacing rims, you might need to look at axle swaps, That is why most stay with the lock ring wheels and either do their tire changes them selves or take to a truck shop.

H-4 headlights conversions are avaiable from Summit, J.C> Whitney and others. Six volt H-4 bulbs are avaiable from J.C. Whitney and Dennis Kirk.
