220 SD compression

Anybody know what the compression is on a SD engine. After I put the engine back together, a check of the compression was a real disappointment. Hopefully it just needs a valve job. Why didn't I do it while it was apart the first time. Guess I just like taking things apart.

Re: 220 SD compression

Compression ratio is only 7.5 to 1 so not very high. In a perfect world with atmospheric pressure at 14.7 psi and a perfect engine you would get 110#. Irish Mike's library has the maint manual but I don't know if it will give that information or not. MM

If you have consistent across all cylinders, say something like 95-105 Call it good. Even if you have 80 across all cylinders it will run, might use a little oil.
Just my thoughts.
