Speedo interchange

Just wondering if the speedo gears connecting at the bottom are the same for an L120 and an R110...the L connects at the bottom of the ?tranny? and the R which is the donor truck is connected higher up on the ?tranny? I was just going to take it off to see if it would work but thought I would come here first and get some input.
