Copper is better. Aluminum is the best.

If you type crush washer in google, it should give you several different options. Just need to find the correct diameter.

I have a rotary turret punch that allows me to make any size soft metal washer.
If a person has difficulty find a replacement soft metal washer, it is possible to anneal the copper, brass or aluminium washer by heating the washer with a propane torch. Let the washer cool on the bench. Do not immerse it in water.

Assuming you have a green diamond engine, and assuming the drain plug is the same size as the SD and BD plugs, I've had good luck with a nylon washer. Dorman 097-005.

This is what I changed too. Washer should work the the old plug.
This was for a GRD.

The copper drain plug gaskets are also available as Dorman 095005 or NAPA NOE 7041364. Also tractor parts places may carry this by the original IHC number 3405HA, used for many years on HD and GRD engines and many Farmall tractor engines.
