what truck is this?

I just got this truck yesterday and was wondering if someone could help me identify the model, or how to figure that out? The guy said he thought it was a 1946 and he made the metal hydraulic dump bed himself. The wheels are 6 lug and the rear axle is dual wheels. K3? I'm totally new to international trucks

Re: what truck is this?

look for the Data tag, should be either inside the cab or on firewall passenger side in the engine bay. The chassis number is the one to use to look for the year it was made. You will find a chassis number list on the Wisconsin Historical Society page, sub page is the McCormick collection. The chassis number should also be stamped on the drivers side frame rail in front of the steering box, I believe. Closer pictures of the sides in front of the doors might show the designation. Does the grill have stainless strips on it, or holes for them? If not then it is probably pre war. Just my quick thoughts

Wow thank you for the info, that is extremely helpful! This sure seems like a neat old truck, I guess it was a wood getter a long time ago but the last registration was 1994 where it was parked in the garage. Everything is there so hopefully I can get it going again!

The hood badge in front and the lack of holes and stainless on the grille says it is a K model 1940-1947.

To me it's a K-3, but the diferent kind of wheeles in the front and rear axels, despite the rear to be double, sounds strange to me. Two diferent step wheeles should be necessary in this truck. Did the factory have done it this way?

The OP's question of, "What truck is this?" almost sounds Shakspearian. "What manner of truck is this who's front match not the rear?" Cornbinder, Oh Cornbinder, speak to me of the unthinkable and tell me it is true. The maker made it so, so I may be at rest. What is done is done.
