Now that the introductions are done, it may be time to move this thread over to the K and KB section.

That is a vacuum shift (per orignal) but could be retrofitted with a modern air shift if you like.
Thanks for the pic's I have never seen one retrofitted that way. Defenately done "back in the day" with bolt style chambers and "pendulum or lever type" treadle valve.
Can you imagine pulling a semi trailer with little more than 100 hp? Would be a workout for sure.

Re: Stopping the truck

I've got the same vacuum 2-speed shift on my '47 KB-6. The chamber won't hold a vacuum anymore, so I'm trying to find a replacement, but no luck so far. It's an Eaton part, and I've got the Eaton and IHC part numbers for it, but online searches haven't turned up anything yet. Any suggestions on who might have one of these?

Re: Stopping the truck

Keep looking on E bay, they come up from time to time, often mis-labled as an 'Air Brake" part or Chamber.
While it can't be an "open leak" it doesn't have to hold a vacuum for a long periods as it is connected to engine vacuum, so a small leak will not let it drop out of high speed.
