Temp sending unit KB-1

Anyone know where I can find a new temperature sending unit? Are they similar to any of the newer units, or will a newer unit work with the stock KB-1 gauge.

I will see if I salvaged the one from my 214 motor. They are a pulsed sender, do not think any new ones will interchange. I could be wrong. Others may have better info.

As Lloyd says they are a pulsed type sender and no "modern" flat resistance will work. The Ford repo's for the flathead are close but don't have the correct resistance to be an exact replacement. They will work but will throw the gauge off a bit. This is because the Ford system uses two senders, one in each head.

I don't know what the resistor is in the Ford flat head six, do you? I know the senders for the V8 have the wrong card for the IHC system. It is a few ohms different. It will make the needle move but will effect the reading accuracy.
Bob Drake only has the V-8 ones, I don;t know if anyone is Repo'ing the 6 cyl ones.

If someone comes up with the info on the Ford flat head six, and it will interchange, be sure to post up all the info in the parts thread.
Thanks

Captain Bob, I can pull the one off my old 214 and mail it to you if it helps. I'm not using the engine and can't seem to find anyone that wants it complete.

Thank you for the generous offer. For now, let me try other ways and if it becomes impossible to find an interchange or a nos somewhere, I'll keep you in mind. I would hate for your to separate yours from the engine, since they are so hard to replace.
