I'd like to know how the Ford unit works too.

I used a generic adjustable fuel gauge from Napa. No idea of part # however don't know how it would work with original gauges as I installed Dolphin gauges.

Well, it sort of works. The very first time I turned the key on and with a full tank, the needle went right to full. Sweet, I thought. Unfortunately the next time I turned the key on it only went to half full. I suspect the delicate little needle inside the gauge has shifted somehow. I will open it up and see. Anyways, I think the sending unit is working fine.
Next up is a new oil pressure sending unit. I will start a new thread for that. At least I know I must have oil pressure as I have been driving it for about four summers now.

I have an original 47 Ferd one in my panel, not 100% accurate, but lets you know you have fuel, not sure how aftermarket Ferd ones do,
