I measured them and have 1 3/4 shoes. I torqued them to 80 ft lbs and all 4 are turning. Going to test drive the truck when I can

Thanks for the update. Did you figure out what was binding?

Re: Lug nut torque

I did torque lugs to 80 ft lbs and all wheels are turning. Not sure what was causing binding. I drove the truck a little and need to adjust brakes. So perhaps as brakes wear in the problem will go away. Thanks everyone for help.

Re: Lug nut torque

this is just weird, if everything is clearing I could only suspect shoes over adjusted. Don't go too far, drive around the block until you are satisfied truck is road worthy and no surprises

Re: Lug nut torque

a rim being bolted to a drum would have Zero effect on the internals, bearings, shoes, etc. no matter how tight, a hub/drum isn't going to flex from a rim,

bearings not set right or shoes too tight if wheel isn't rubbing on something on frame.

Re: Lug nut torque

Could the complete brake restore you stated include drums that were not swedged? Then tightening down caused the drums to be off center, binding on the shoes. ???
