KB-2 tailpipe

I drove Hector (my KB-2) to the muffler shop today to have A tail pipe installed. It hasn't had one since I got the truck and I was not sure what diameter it is supposed to be. There was an old hangar bracket that appeared to be original bolted to the frame that measured 1 1/2 " where the pipe went through it. I had the muffler shop bend one for me at that diameter and install it. The truck seems to run alright with it but it just looks to be to small. I checked the MT-52C parts manual but it doesn't give any dimensions. Just the part number. Dose anyone have any specs for the tailpipe?

Mine is 2" and that is the size of the original hangers that I am using. 1 1/2" sounds small.

I presume you re referring to the size of the truck's tailpipe.
Here is some interesting information on the square area of the cross section of exhaust pipe that was common on trucks of the 1940s and 1950s. My R120 came with 3 inch exhaust pipe from the manifold to the rear bumper.
So. I think it is better to know the numbers. The free opening area rises rather quickly as the size increases. This is simple math using pi R squared, with pi being 3.1415 and R being the radius.
EG: 4 inch pipe. the radius is 2 inches. 2 times 2 = 4 times 3.1415 equals a total cross section area of 12.46 square inches. My Ram Cummins has 4 inch exhaust pipe.

1.5" inch pipe - 1.76 square area
2.0 inch pipe - 3.1415 - -
2.5" inch pipe - 4.92 - -
3.0 inch pipe - 7.06 - -
I would rather have tools I do not need than to need tools I do not have
