Freeze Plug Muck-uh-oh

SO I had two freeze plugs that had an very slight leak in my GD 214. I'll be painting it and wanted to replace the plugs before I get that far. I took out the first plug tonight and it had all kinds of muck behind it. I could get most of it out with my finger. Dirt, antifreeze rust or whatever. Will a good flush be good or do I probably have bigger problems. I am guessing it hasn't been flushed in 50 years.

If you have the motor out, Then I would replace all of them. Flush out the water passages, it will help it cool better. Just my 1/5 of a dime.

Put a couple rubber expansion plugs in the holes so you can fill the engine back up. Put a bunch of Cascade liquid dish detergent (yes, really) in with straight water and run it up to temperature for awhile. Keep doing this until the water drains out clean. Pull the rubber plugs and inspect, replace with proper freeze plugs.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, it's an electrical problem
