Grill Chrome

I found enough grill chrome from my old KB-7 and an old bus I purchased parts from. I drilled the 90 holes just a bit over sized to fit the plastic clips I found at my local body shop. I had to trim the clips a bit so they did not show, cut out the little plastic rib between the stems, and trim the last tooth on each side near the chrome so the the clip fit flush against the steel grill. I am happy with the results for $30 and some time and effort. They are very secure.

Re: Grill Chrome

Looks real good. If you can show some of the parts, it might help some others. Thank you

I'll take some close ups of the clips and the chrome ribs and post them.

Re: Grill Chrome

Nice, I did same thing with my grill, smaller clips,
About $200 less than using original metal clips

Re: Grill Chrome

Front of clip. I had to trim the top and bottom of the round flange so it didn't show. I also shaved the teeth closest to the head for a tight fit. I like these better than the original which seem to slide into the holes from the side. I'm not a purist (no offense if you are) and don't care about a perfect restoration. It's a driveable rat rod on a Chevy C-40 running gear. With a great cool factor!

Re: Grill Chrome

Sorry, Doxin I just saw your request. I will ask the body shop about the manufacturer and part number.
