Windshield frame connectors

The connectors between the two windshield frame halves were in extremely bad shape so I made new ones.

They are made from alumin(i)um bar stock. The local Big Blue Box store had a .250 X 1.00 x 36 inch piece that had a bent end ($2).

The finished size is .250" X .500" X 4.250" long.

The two holes in each frame are spaced 1.00 inch apart O/C. The four threaded holes in the connector are machined to #10-32 tpi to match the frame pieces

The distance between the upper and lower set (2) of holes (where the two frames meet) is 1.3125 O/C.

Nice work, now don't forget to run a 45 degree bevel at top of block so the flathead machine screw can seat all the way

I missed that detail. The connectors and screws were in such bad condition all ten screws had to be drilled out. That was not fun!

This was the worse piece to come out, the other three weren't much better

Re: Windshield frame connectors

that what mine were like,

the only reason I know to do the bevel on top is because once I assembled my frame the flathead machine screw bottomed out on the blocks before seating flush in frame body,

I have bought some parts from Jacob recently and can attest to the fact that his parts are outstanding.
