u joint part number

help! somehow after 15 years restored my rear u joint bolts came loose and my drive shaft fell out! I need a part number(NAPA?) for a new u joint. 49 KB2, hoping to be able to save the piece that bolts it to axle...

Perfect! thank alot, already ordered. By the way it was $25 cheaper than NAPA at advanceauto.com for same MOOG part. Why I'm here, should I be worried why this came loose? It's been together for over 15 years. The wheels spin easy by turning differential so axle gears seem okay.

Probably not to worried. 15 years, never checked? Unless they broke, they probably just came apart from vibration. It is a good thing to check, perhaps once a year if you put a fair amount of miles on it. How is "rust" in your area?

I'm in Connecticut, rust is a fact of life, they like to salt roads more than plow them. Truck is garaged in winter, 15 years restored and no rust. I never thought about checking the drive shaft bolts, I will now... scared the crap out of me when it let go!

Yep, Been there done that. Lots of noise, I was always glad it was the back one that gave away, and not the front one. Sometimes it is one bolt that goes, and then the forces on the others is greater, then another one can let go on the opposite side and still not know.
