Re: Info on KB-1 and 2s

The main Difference is that the KB1 is a half ton, The KB2 is a 3/4 ton and the KB3 is a one ton. Body wise, no difference. Someone else will correct this if I am wrong.

Re: Info on KB-1 and 2s

Generally the KB1 had 3 on the tree transmission. The KB2 had 4 on the floor. I am sure there are exceptions to this. Most KB1 and KB2s had the 7 1/2 foot box but some KB1s had a shorter box. I think all KB2s had helper overload springs on the rear axle but a lot of KB1s also had them.

yea, generally,

my first KB-1 was a 4 on the floor short box, had a K-1 4 on the floor, my KB-1 panel is on the column, my K-3 was on the floor,

KB 1 & 2 had a lot of crossed options, KB-3 rear springs were wider, frame slightly beefier, thicker front axle I beam, full floating rear end, etc. but sheet metal in all 3 swap to each other as long as same wheelbase,

I learned years ago, no absolute with International, any time I made a statement as fact someone posted picture of their truck to disprove it,

but generally speaking from IHC brochures, Lloyd is correct

International factory designated KB-1 =1/2 ton, KB-2 =3/4 ton, KB-3 =1 ton, KB-4 < discontinued line, but K-4 was 1 1/4 ton, KB-5 =1 1/2 ton, KB-6 =2 ton etc.

of course there were tons of axle options/spring packs on the larger trucks,
