KB 6 or 7

Can anyone tell me the difference between a KB 6 and a KB 7? Is one just a heavier duty truck like 1/2 ton vs 3/4?

Re: KB 6 or 7

Not much, the biggest difference is the GVW, although this can vary depending on spec's. The biggest difference is in the rear spring hanger, the -7 has the hanger where a rod runs across under the frame, and the -6 is more like the lighter trucks and has a conventional shackle. Other differences are in the brakes and what the std engine was, the -6 had a 250 BLD as std, and the -7 had the 269 BLD.
-7's could have up to 21,000 GVW but I have one with 16500 GVW.

Thanks for the info
Which is the better market? Selling a rolling chasssis with motor, trans, steering column etc
or pulling the engine, trans, rear end etc seperately?
I'm new at this at not sure how the market runs

If you have a place to store those Items, always best to store together, but be prepared to separate. Biggest "killer" in selling big items is Shipping. If motors are bad and no one wants them, I always encourage folks to remove the "smalls" as they take up less storage and some of them are almost impossible to come by. Just my thoughts, others may differ.

Depends on what you call better. In theory you make more selling individual pieces, but only if you can find buyers for everything. Much easier to sell a big chunk once than a lot of little sales. Since BLD's ended in the 50's and the whole family ended in the 60's I would hope that you would save the engine and driveline.

Re: KB 6 or 7

I'll be selling both trucks drive train / with engine, trans, rear, hydraulic lift etc if there's an interest once I get the bodies off.
Can even transport them if necessary for a reasonable price
I'd much rather do this than just scrap metal them
