How to Id engine

How do I determine what engine I have, what transmission, and what rear end I have. I have all original parts but I see 233 and 214 for parts in other post; I just want to make sure I order the right parts.

I am just starting the restoration of the KB-2; its fun but I lot of questions.

The engine number will have 214 or 233 in the first 3 digits.

My VIN numbers is KB292254

That number is your frame number or your engine's serial number, IHC Usually titled off engine serial number,

serial number won't tell you the size, the size is stamped at top front driver's side of block above generator, see picture, mine is a GRD-214,

a KB-2 would have come from factory a GRD-214, OR it could've been special ordered with a GRD-233, those are only factory options besides the GRD-175 thrifty motor, I've never seen one of those,

it could also have most any motor 68 years after the fact,
