Likely stuck from sitting, you can try wrapping on the center to see if you can jar it free, nothing holding it on.
If you just want to move the truck, put your 7" rims without tires on the outside of the rear, use the 5" rims with tires on the inside.

Re: K-4 Owners

Thanks, I got the axle pulled. it came out easy when didn't try screwing the 1/2" bolt into the two extra holes. I thought those threaded holes were for pushing the axle out. I put the 1/2" bolt in only a short way and pried on it to pull the axle.
Regarding the tires. I want to mount the tires for playing around town. Thinking about mounting them on the 7" rims and see if the spread feels too wide.

Re: K-4 Owners

Way too wide, if you have four 5" rims just single out the rear, useing the 7" rim on the outside position so they don't interfere with the springs.

Re: K-4 Owners

Sorry for the long delay in publishing results. The large rim was only a 20x6 so it did fit but it is tight.
Here are some shots of the old rim and the new tires.

Re: K-4 Owners

Your 2nd pic shows why I caution against wide rims on these old trucks. 6" is about it!

Re: K-4 Owners

Hello all you K-4 Owners. ( I think I know 2 )
I am headed back out to Montana on September 4th. Will be working on the old K4. It was overheating and I think the head gasket was leaking into the water jacket. Have a new gasket and will put that on. I cheated and purchased a new Carburetor. I will keep the old parts in case the next guy wants all original. Now I need to work on the fuel pump. Am tempted to get an electric pump but will look around some first.
Let me know if you have any leads on fuel pumps or kits. The engine is GRD 214 35053. I will put up more photos as the Grand kids and I work on it. :)

Then and Now Automotive in Weymouth, MA will sell a kit, but I just send mine to them, and they turned it around in less then a week, do great work. Alot better then buying something NOS off the internet. They use material formulated to handle todays gasoline.

Re: K-4 Owners

Thanks, Looks like a great source. I will take my pump off and see if I can find the numbers.

Next I will probably need U-Joints. Any good leads on that. (1941 K4)
We put some used needles in my caps and it is working for a while.
