Placement Questions

All, a few questions:
1. Where does the wiper switch mount? KB-3
2. Does anyone have a picture of the stock rear view mirror mounted? KB-3
3. Where does the heater switch mount? KB-3

Wiper switch mounts overhead, in between the two wiper motors in the "V" of the upper windshield/header panel. Both my trucks heater switches were on the right side of the dash panel. As I don't have a smaller K I don't know about rear veiw mirrors.

My truck has its original dash and all switches still intact and un-molested. I will try to get some pictures of it in the next couple days. Only problem is - my truck was never equipped with a heater.

there SHOULD be 2 oblong holes under bottom roll of dash under glove box area where heater switch goes,
unless they don't put the holes in trucks with no heater speced.

first cb89 is correct as to the lochtion of the wiper switch.

as well as bedrockjohn is correct as to the lochashtion of the heater switch and like him i can not say as i do not know if the cabs that came with out a heater were factory pre drilled for the heater switch.

this said the factory rear veiw mirror for a k/kb 1 thru 5 is identical as well as it is the same one used in the 1942 to like 1952 ford pickups and a new one can be purchased thru macsauto parts online in polished stainless steel for around $50.00 pus shipping.

next the factory inteior cab rear veiw mirror was an option and not all trucks resived one.

yet those that did had it mounted dead center of the v in the header of the cab were the wiper motors mount and it was attached forward of the wiper switch.

lastly on one of the past vershions of oldihc spikedog posted photos of kb pickup that had the stock optional inteior rear veiw and the photos showed were and how the mirror was mounted so if i were you i would pm spikedog to see if he might still have the pitcures as they were great and clearly showed how and were the mirror mounted from factory orgional as again a intierior rear veiw mirror was most defently an option for the k/kb 1 thru 5 and it was and is a ford part.
