Re: Quick Build Update.

Well it finally got paint today!!!! Thanks again to Macgiver, for helping me on, over thinking my plan. Color laid on great, clear was not an issue. Fenders tomorrow! First time painting! Loved it, just not the year of prep....

I can see I'm going to have to seek your advice if I get stuck! Great job , my friend. Thanks for the pic's, look forward to more. It's like that Summit Racing commercial says, It's 95% prep and 5% paint.

More pics.
Finished the outside hood, inside doors, rear/front fenders. Cab next..(after sanding...) Wanted a break from sanding. Although painting wasn't much of a break...Enjoy.

Thank you. She's going back together quick.Been a long fun road. Hopefully spring! Now I just need to courage to go at it with a buffer...
Not sure what you mean by " solid one pack polyurethane.." Single stage? It was a BC/CC. Color was PPG Deltron and Clear was PPG Advantage 575 Euro Max High Solids Clearcoat 4.2 VOC.

Re: Quick Build Update.

Great Paint job , just go slow on the buffer . I wet sanded and buffed out all the paint on my truck . 2 different pads ,2 different compounds .rubbing compound ,then polishing compound ,just use a good vairiable speed buffer and stay off the edges ,go slow

Re: Quick Build Update.

Looking very nice Wylie. Like already said, go slow with the buffer. I used masking tape on some of the edges and rounded areas to try and avoid burn damage. Have buffer turning off the edges, not into them. I'm no expert for sure but learned the hard way in a couple of areas.
good luck
