R1050 rear end; KB1

Hello IHC-Land:

It appears that my 49 KB1 needs work done on the rear end, model R1050. Does anyone know of parts or a used axle/rear end?

Thanks,
Kevin

Re: R1050 rear end; KB1

Hope someone speaks up to help, Just sent off in the last couple of months a KB1 rear end and an L rear end, to crush. Ran out of room to store.

Someone will probably have one, also take a look in the Swap section on here.

my friend bruce at swerven@polarcomm.com should be able to help you out with a rear end no problem.
next if you contact him please tell him i sent you and my name is robert.
lastly the k/kb 1&2 and well as the 1/2 ton l/r/s all share the same rear end and have a 5 on 4 1/2 wheel bolt pattern.
hope this helps robertkb48

What kinda rearend parts do you need? I have a complete KB2 axle that is good, mechanically. The housing is pretty rusty and the brakes are completely ruined. But it does have a good third member and two good axles in it.

yes, saddles would have to be cut off and relocated, if you consider this option, why not just go even newer like I did? I put a dana posi rearend out of a 60something travelall in my KB-1, same width & wheel bolt pattern, had to relocated the saddles, and have dana yoke put on to KB driveline, but a lot better in the long run, never got stuck again, and I could do freeway speeds
