K model heater @ -39C

Saturday morning the temperature outside was a frigid -39C so I took my 41 K1 for a ride down the highway and then through the city. For insulation i have a that silver coloured bubble wrap they sell at home depot installed on the whole floor and up the fire wall. The complete floor is also covered in rubber mat. The heater pours out plenty of heat! I was amazed, mind you the cab is pretty tight and of course I have a complete Restoration Specialties rubber kit installed but I never really thought the heater would be sufficient for our frikkin' cold northern climate. I also have a block heater in the event the K1 has to spend a night outside.

As long as all things are correct, those heaters were good, air leaks in the cab were what made me cold.

How is that bubble insulation to walk on on the floor? I though it would be too crackly or rolly feeling to walk on or that the bubbles would pop.
"How the heck did that happen?"

before I added a temp switch inline, my heater had two positions off and hot,

riding around in dead of winter with windows half way down,

I wonder how come by comparison they went to such a useless heater in the L, & R, series,
