Needing to find a source for wheel cylinders for a 1947 kb7. Rock auto has rebuild kits for the fronts listed but not seeing anything for the rear. I do not know if they are the same or not? Also the banjo? Fitting on the Bendix booster on the line from the master cylinder to the booster is leaking anybody know where to find such a critter? Brand new to the site and found it while searching for brake parts will try to check in often. Thanks. John

The rear cyl are odd ducks, and there is no source for new ones, NOS (military old stock) show up on E bay from time to time. There are places that can sleeve and re-bore yours and then you can put new cups in by size. Thats about the best if yours will not hold new cups.

NOS stands for New Old Stock. an NOS part is a new never been installed old part that has been sitting on a shelf somewhere, usually in the original box or with original tags, etc.

cornbinder is right, these are odd ducks to find

Pat Walsh claims he can get em, he wanted $650 a piece years ago.

HOWEVER, when I rebuilt my brakes on my KB-6, I bought a set of NOS rear cylinders, problem was they were bigger than my KB-6 ones,

I found my KB-6 ones on ePay, and now I have these on a shelf in my
garage, I figured they must be for a KB-7?

no cornbinder I don't want to argue with you on application,

the part numbers on the boxes is FC 7962 & FC 7963, cast numbers on em is FE 1284 & FE 1285, if your cast numbers are the same contact me,

I also have a new in the box master cylinder & hydro-vac, but I'm holding onto them for new.

Either K-6 or K-7 cyl will fit, the -6's are a lttle smaller, but what was fitted depended on the GVW that was spec'd and the time of Mfg. Either will work and unless you run heavy all the time will stop just fine. I had 5 ton on the bed of my K-7 with the smaller cyl and had no trouble stopping, MY other -7 with the bigger brakes has a GVW of 21K and I don't notice a differance.
Use whatever you can find!

My KbS-6 has 1963 bendix backing plates with dual cylinders , they were changed before I got the truck . I thought I would mention it as an alternative . The drums are stock international and there are some new holes for the bolts that connect them to the flange on the axel but it's a nice upgrade . I know they were used on school busses so they must have some saftey apeal , I'm happy they are on my truck .

again cornbinder these larger wheel cylinders I offered will NOT fit a KB-6, we went thru this before, they would not bolt on my truck that is why I got the other set,
I'm sure I could've made em work with a torch and a lot of drilling, but,,,,
the wheel cylinders I have and listed part numbers for may fit a KB-7, but he needs to check the casting #s.

so, either will work is not a correct thing to tell this guy or anyone.

Work has me busy right now will finnish tearing the rear apart probably Sunday. Thanks for the input and we will see when I get the rears apart. At this time I really am not doing a full correct resto just trying to get it functional and working. That being said I don not know if I want to cut and adapt to much if not needed. Although looking at 650 price I might get real creative. Being the cheapskate that I am I am pondering doing the resleeve myself if I can find kits. Will post again when get rears off and know what I have. Thanks again for the ideas.
