Nice! Look forward to hearing how it all pans out for you....good luck! I was told to come look at a K model panel truck in the summer but the owner decided he is not ready to pedal off any of his 9 k models...he's 95 years old and just not ready!

Re: looky what I bought

Update: so I went I picked up the panel, main body is surprisingly solid, floor boards door jams, lower rockers running boards, nearly perfect.

doors, grill, and front fenders have really bad rot,

I have a mint grill, and really nice doors, and pretty good fenders in my stash, so all bolt on stuff, rear doors are gonna be the challenge.

the king pins, u-joints, suspension and everything looks tight, front springs still have nice arc, so I'm thinking fairly low original miles?

the guy said he bought it 30 yrs. ago in Cali, had motor rebuilt 20 yrs. ago, so I pulled the head yesterday, brand new .060 pistons, & new valves,
never even been oil dumped into the motor since rebuild, no accessories installed back onto on block, he just let it sit for 20 yrs. after getting rebuilt motor put back in place.

a few valves got moisture damage from no carb on intake,, so I have spare valves, I'll re-cut seats and lap in new valves, should be good to go,

I inspected starter, re-built, so I put in on, Generator same thing, installed the 20yr. old tune up kit and installed the distributor and components,

whoever did the work threw all the bolts into a tub, which got wet, being that I've worked on 3-4 of these GRDs I know what bolt goes where, otherwise what a puzzle. still had to clean up each bolt and chase threads with a die.

My camera is on the fritz right now, but I'll post some pics,

I've owned 4 of these in the past, plus numerous KBs, there are some odd things on this truck that are factory that wasn't on my other ones, be interesting to hear from you guys if these things are on yours,

Re: looky what I bought

One of the local boys drove one of these Binders. It had a Dodge V8 drivetrain. The front suspension was from a Dodge Diplomat.
