Locking ring on split rim

Ok, I have started on my front rims. Looks like the lock ring for the rim was galvanized, but the main rim is painted. Does anyone know for sure if the lock ring was galvanized? If so, to be correct, I would have to at least paint is silver.

thoughts?

If you do decide to go galvanized- Rustoleum sells a 'cold galvanizing' spray paint that does a pretty good job- make sure there's NO rust on it before painting though or it will bleed right through.
"How the heck did that happen?"

Re: Locking ring on split rim

Well, I posted on a few other boards as well, and I got a response that some rims DID have a galvanized lock ring. Some didn't. I'll have to stratch my head a bit to determine what "look" I want. Might look kinda cool with the galvanized ring against a black rim. Best part is, if I don't like the look, I can always repaint it!
