Re: Brake quiz,

The short shoe is in the front , the same place I had mine untill you helped me out . The long shoe needs to be in front , I'm not sure about that wheel cylinder but I think its backwards also , large side large shoe . I think you may be checking to see if I'm awake .

Re: Brake quiz,

I see you are using a three leg axle stand. They are very unstable and the situation is made much worse if the stand is on an irregular surface.
Our friend Robert, KB48, had a vehicle fall on him and it changed his life to pain and suffering.

Re: Brake quiz,

If the brakes are not self energizing, does it really make much difference?

Re: Brake quiz,

I don't see any brake lining rivets. The linings must be glued on. Not original.

Re: Brake quiz,

yup, short shoe is in front, common mistake since all newer floating anchor brakes with star adjuster had short shoe in front,

double anchor brakes long shoe goes in front,

IMG_2597.JPG

from the manual showing right front wheel, brake cylinder is in the right position, although there was nothing in it on this truck.

I'm not sure if it really makes any difference which way the shoes are put in, but this is how they were originally,

Nikki thank you for the heads up on the jack stands, I have two jack stands and a jack under the front axle, And supports under the front bumper, 5 points of support total.

I'm allergic to getting squashed.
