Oil to use in a 214

I understand that new oils should not be used in these old engines because the don't have the correct additives such as zinc. What type and brand of oil woks the best.
My 214 was just rebuilt, so should I use a different type of oil for a breakin period.
Thanks Daryl

Well, I use SAE HD 30, and add a bottle of ZDDP. You can use 10w30 if you want, but once again, if you are going to run it a lot, use ZDDP. Rislone makes it and others. Eastwood also sells it.

Tom - Thanks for the suggestion of adding ZDDP to modern engine oil. Darryl, I would not even had thought of modern oil being an issue if it weren't for your post so thanks to you also.

I have heard others advocate the use of a diesel engine oil, specifically the Rotella T, for use with older vehicles with flat tappet cams.
