Stickman, the few radios that we have seen were all mounted at the bottom of the dash, and included the speaker as a self contained unit. None had international anyplace like the L/R/S radios. Maybe all that they had would just be the period correct, and not international specific.

Ha Ha, yea, I had my favorite book of matches to shove under the tape to get it to play, I wouldn't let anyone use any of the matches as it was perfect thickness 1/2 used.

probably a cause of a lot of wrecks back then was trying to stay in your own lane while keeping the tape player from eating another 30 feet of your favorite tape.

I had a KB for a short time. It had a two part radio. Motorola. The channel volume and selector was screwed under the dash, cable each dial to the main case with the tubes in it. Worked great. Stamped 1947, I have seen them it the 40s/ 50s stuff. Don't know who installed.

The one I am talking about was the same type- it is bolted to the firewall and the controls are in the dash and run via cables to the radio. It is a NASH-PHILCO . I will try to get some pictures and post them. Stickman 207
