Looking for Brake Drums, Fuel Tank & Sending Unit for KB3

Hey Folks,

I am looking for NOS Brake Drums (front & rear - 6 lug), fuel tank and fuel tank sending unit for a 1947 International KB3. I tried Travelall Parts and Jackson's Old Time Parts as well as searched eBay and other internet sites with no luck. On the off chance that someone has or knows anyone who has these parts available for sale (in working order) please reply to this thread.

Much appreciated y'all!

Re: Looking for Brake Drums, Fuel Tank & Sending Unit for KB

You're at the right place, Keith.
We've had many discussions here about the scarcity of the items you mention.
I have three K pickups, either KB or KB1. I doubt whether any of those tanks are any good. I can't say for sure whether they'd fit properly in a Kb-3 anyway.
I personally use Japanese gas tanks in a pinch from the wrecking yard. Used to be Courier tanks but Courier is getting hard to find. Courier and early Mazda pickups are nearly identical.
Anyway, take measurements and go for a stroll at the wrecking yard!
Then I have the local rad shop modify them so filler, etc, is on right end.
The alternative is a new tank, perhaps stainless, $500+?
Gas Tank Renu is about there on price but you get the old one back!
Slaven's in Selma CA does mine but requires tanks to be hot tanked before they'll get near with a flame.
Other folks will jump in on the brake drum situation. NOS? Wouldn't you settle for good used?

I have two tanks-one from a KB-2 and a brand new one for some international that I picked up in a parts swap. It is very close in dimensions to the original and I am sure it would fit if spacers were used. I can take some pictures if you wish.- Stickman 207

Stickman and Smog_Guy, thank you both for your replies. Stickman, I would be interested seeing pictures of the tanks. I'm new to Old IHC so is there a way for me to get my email address to you without posting on this thread. My second option would be to go the GT Renew route. There is a dealer in Houston.

Thanks All.

I figured out to send private messages / emails so I'm good there. Stickman - I sent you an email on the gas tanks.
